Cache Sweeper Privacy Policy
What Cache Sweeper does
Cache Sweeper clears browsing data from Chrome, such as the cache, cookies, site storage and history, when you ask it to or on a schedule you set. It uses Chrome's built-in browsingData API to do this. Data it clears is deleted by Chrome and is never read, copied or sent anywhere by the extension.
Information stored on your device
To work, the extension keeps a small amount of information in Chrome's own extension storage. None of it leaves your browser unless you turn on sync.
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Your settings | Data types, time range, scope, schedules, theme, language, and the domain lists you type in (sites to clear, sites to keep, sites to stay signed in to). | Chrome local storage |
| Last clear | The time, trigger (manual, periodic, idle…) and duration of the most recent clear, shown in Settings. | Chrome local storage |
| Open tab sites | Only if you turn on "When a tab is closed": which site each open tab belongs to, so the extension knows when you close a site's last tab. | Chrome session storage, erased when the browser closes |
The extension reads the address of the current tab only when you use it (for example, to clear "this site only" or to reload the page). That address is used at that moment and is not saved or shared.
Sync across devices
If you turn on "Sync across devices", your settings are saved to your Google account through Chrome sync so they follow you to other computers. This is handled entirely by Google Chrome under Google's Privacy Policy. The developer of Cache Sweeper has no access to it. Sync is off by default.

Sharing and selling
We don't sell, rent, share or transfer any user data to third parties. We don't use any data for advertising, for creditworthiness or lending, or for any purpose unrelated to clearing browsing data. The use of information by Cache Sweeper complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your control
You can see and change every setting in the extension's Settings page, export them to a file, or restore the defaults with "Reset to defaults". Uninstalling the extension removes all of its stored information from your browser.
Children
Cache Sweeper is a general-purpose tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of the extension ever needs to handle data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released.
